Echo chambers aren't just a political problem. They're an everything problem. Across all spectrums. There are far too many people who never step outside of their niche or their little community of whatever kind of like-minded people who share their same basic interests, values, and opinions. It truly is a fact that we are far more connected than ever yet so much more isolated at the same time. It's a double-edged sword - the incredible ability for hyper-connectivity to whoever you want to be connected with inevitably leads to the equally incredible ability for hyper-disconnectivity to whoever you want to be disconnected from.
I'm right, you're wrong. and I've got a whole community of people right here at the click of a button who wholeheartedly agree with me and will back me up no matter what, in the face of any facts, arguments, or evidence, and it doesn't matter what you say, think, or believe because I don't ever have to talk to you or anyone else who sits outside of my comfortable little bubble full of people who think just exactly like me. I never have to consider your input. I never have to take your values into account. I don't even have to think of you as a human being, as a real-life manifestation of consciousness transporting through the world in a bag of meat that, if you strip away all the nuances and superficial details, looks almost identical to my own. You're nobody. You're nothing. You don't matter. Go back to where you came from and stick to what you know. Stay in your own lane. My tribe, my team, my people... we're the righteous ones. We've got it figured out. We've got a superior way of thinking.
